Andrew Barton Consultant, Space System Advisor 

Dr. Barton is an aerospace engineer active in the space technology start-up sector. Currently Director of Launch and US Operations for Fleet Space Technologies, he previously worked at XPRIZE Foundation as Director of Technical Operations for the Google Lunar XPRIZE, and was responsible for implementing Milestone Prizes, selecting and managing independent judges, and communicating with the space industry and general public. Previously, Barton worked as a technology developer, project manager and entrepreneur in Europe, and also worked for 4 years as a specialist at the European Space Agency supporting development of space missions, making significant contributions to future lunar and Mars landers as well as the VEGA launch vehicle. Barton holds Ph.D. and bachelors degrees in aerospace engineering from the University of Sydney and a Masters degree in Space Studies from the International Space University.
